DURION-ER03 Integrated Computer and Dual 5G MIMO Railway/Bus Router

Bangkok - October 16th, 2023 - Launched at BusWorld 2023 exhibition, the DURION-ER03 redefines high performance in-vehicle routers with its unique internal architecture. The ER03 combines three processors, each with dedicated functionality. The core router is based on the NXP Layerscape LS1046A networking processor, supporting this CPU is a ARM CORTEX A7 Linux application processor, which connects to the router using an internal Ethernet interface. A dedicated CORTEX M0 microcontroller manages and supervises the device operation and provides I/O interfaces such as J1939 CAN, universal CAN 2.0, RS-485 and Digital I/O.

ER03 enables execution of application software on a separate CPU, software can be updated individually without affecting the other. Th router is based on Embedded WRT LINUX, while the application processor can use ANDROID or any other LINUX flavor. Specific data security enhancing or encryption SW can be executed on the LINUX platform.

The ER03 features 4+1 GBIT Ethernet MAC with RJ45 connectors as well as two Ser-Des SFP+ ports, which can accept 10GBit Copper/fibre or 1000Base-T1 Automotive Ethernet SFP adapters. Two M.2 5G modems with eSIM and uSIM support interface directly to the router processor over USB 3.0/PCIe 2.0. An additional internal M.2 expansion port is available for SATA SSD, MVME SSD (1-lane PCIe) or high speed WiFi.

A high accuracy GNSS receiver supports both UDR and ADR assisted navigation. In ADR mode, the receiver uses speed and direction data extracted from the J1939 bus or from train systems over Ethernet. Standard interfaces, such as general portpose CAN 2.0, 2x RS-485 and Digital I/O, are available. Furthermore, the CORTEX A7 application processor provides a DVI-D display interface and full audio I/O.

Bangkok - November 29th, 2023 - Duragon's ER- and DR-series Edge Routers now support AIS140 protocol. All message types are included. The rash driving monitoring leverages the data of the onboard 3D accelerometer. All routers include an emergency button button input, which will trigger the correct emergency message to predefined IP addresses. The AIS140 operational configuration is performed using SMS with a dedicated protocol.

LTE450 networks are dedicated to public safety and government related organizations. The ACS-450 M.2 Modem is compatible with all ER- and DR-series routers and can be installed in the internal M.2 modem expansion slot. In case two M.2 slots are available, the router can include a modem for LTE450 and a standard 2x2 5G MIMO modem working in parallel. The ACS-450 supports voice calls with a full mono audio interface and on-board 3.1W amplifier. Availability for the ACS-450 is Q1/2024.

DURION-DCORE-DR01-MIMO -Integrated Computer and 5G MIMO Router

Bangkok - November 7th, 2022 - The DCORE-DR01 is now available with 4x4 MIMO support. The system is functionally and software compatible with the 2x2 MIMO DG-DCORE-DR01. This version of the router includes four FAKRA antenna connectors. An EN50155 and EN61373 compliant 5G MIMO/GNSS antenna is also available. The DG-DCORE-DR01-MIMO supports 4X4 MIMO (DL) on most global bands, but can support MIMO 4X4 (UL) on n40 and n78 bands, which are widely used in Europe for private 5G networks.

This router bases on a dedicated WRT-Linux, with support for device and modem management. Router VPN, VLAN, Firewall and Link settings are configurable using a Web-based LUCY interface.

The DCORE-DR01-MIMO includes a UDR or ADR GNSS subsystem based on the Quectel LC29H, which enables navigation of the vehicle in challenging conditions in covered station areas. Other interfaces include J1939 CAN, dual RS-485, RS-232, Audio I/O and general-purpose digital outputs. Both uSIM and soldered down eSIM are supported.

This router targets bus/metro/tram/train upgrade programs which require EDGE connectivity to 5G private networks with maximum bandwidth. The device is certified to EN50155, EN50121, EN61373 and EN45545-2 as well as ECE Reg 10.

DURION-DR01 Integrated Computer and Sub 6GHz 5G MIMO Railway/Bus Router

Berlin - September 22nd, 2022 - Launched at the INNOTRANS 2022 event in Berlin, the DURION-DR01 enables onboard railway systems to seamlessly migrate to support the latest 5G MIMO technology. Built around a multiprocessor architecture, the DR01 uniquely combines a Quad Core Linux ARM application processor, dedicated Layer 3 routing processor and an embedded CORTEX M0 microcontroller. The core router connects to the application processor with an internal Ethernet interface and to the 5G-modem using USB3.0. Four Gbit Ethernet ports are available for external connectivity.

The core router bases on a dedicated WRT-Linux, with support for device and modem management. Router VPN, VLAN, Firewall and Link settings are configurable using a Web-based LUCY interface.

The DURION-DR01 includes a ADR or UDR GNSS subsystem, which can connect to an external wheeltick speed signal or use speed data of the J1939 vehicle CAN bus. Such an RTK assisted navigation solution enables navigation in urban canyon, covered terminals or underground tunnels with high accuracy. Other interfaces include dual RS-485, RS-232, Audio I/O and general-purpose digital outputs. Both uSIM and soldered down eSIM are supported.

Designed in an ultra-compact extruded aluminium case, the DURION-DR01 is ideal for vehicle upgrade programs which require routing and applications software. The application processor can interface to onboard systems such as passenger counters, preprocess data and use MQTT to connect to back-end systems. Due to its multiprocessor architecture, the application processor can execute any user software independently of the WRT Router making application development easier.
